Over the last two weeks, I’ve been building a brand-new online event scheduling system for our website. I wanted something custom-built specifically for Market Street Creatives — simple, streamlined, and designed around our needs — rather than using something like Eventbrite, which can be overly complicated for what we’re doing.
Many of you already used it if you signed up for the Vendor Express Train Ride Experience!
How the New Booking System Works
If you’d like to host an event:
- Go to Book an Event on our website
- Select the room you’d like to use
- Fill out the booking form
Abby or I will review your request, confirm availability, and send you a contract.
Vendor Room Use Guidelines
If you are a vendor and:
- Your event is 15 people or fewer
- AND it takes place during normal business hours
Then there is no cost to use:
- Turner Café
- The New Classroom
For the Creator Space, Seymour Room, or The Warehouse, we will provide pricing based on your event.
After-Hours Fee
If your event goes past closing time, there is a $25 per hour fee to cover staffing.
Example:
If you host an event from 6–8PM on a Saturday and we close at 7PM, your first hour is free, and the second hour would be $25.
We originally committed to having a room available at no charge for vendors, and we want to honor that. The only time a fee applies is when we need to staff the building beyond normal business hours.
Taking Payments for Your Events
The new system can now:
- Accept payments for paid classes/events
- Track registrations
- Send confirmation emails and tickets to attendees
- Allow ticket scanning at the event for verification
Payments are processed through Stripe, with a 3.9% processing fee per transaction. This fee will be deducted before your payout is issued.
If you are hosting a free event but want to track attendance, we can set that up as well.
If your event is private, we can generate a special link for you to share directly with your guests.
To view all published events, visitors can click Event Schedule on our website.
A Few Important Event Notes
- We ask that you do not host BYOB events.
The Turner Tap ’n Café now serves beer, wine, coffee, hot chocolate, and more. We appreciate your guests supporting the café — it helps us continue offering spaces to vendors. - If you need catering, we’re working with Kaylan’s Kitchen to coordinate event food options.
- Please let us know in advance if you need special setup (chairs, tables, etc.) so we can prepare accordingly.
- After your event, we ask that you clean the room and leave it as you found it.
