As Market Street Creatives continues to grow, so does the amount of content our vendors create and share—and that is a great thing.
We love seeing your new products, restocks, displays, classes, specials, events, and behind-the-scenes updates. Your posts help customers discover your businesses and give people more reasons to visit Market Street Creatives.
At the same time, we are no longer able to share every post that directly tags Market Street Creatives on our main Facebook Page timeline. When too many individual vendor posts are shared to the main timeline, important MSC announcements can quickly get buried. This includes information about events, store updates, hours, railroad traffic, classes, special programs, and other news that affects the entire Market Street Creatives community.
What will happen moving forward?
When Market Street Creatives is tagged in a vendor post, we will continue to support and share that content through our Facebook Stories whenever appropriate.
Stories are a great way to give vendors additional exposure while keeping our main Facebook Page organized and focused on important MSC-wide announcements.
Please continue to:
- Tag Market Street Creatives
- Use #MarketStreetCreatives
- Include your business name and location inside MSC
- Make your post public so it can be shared
Introducing Discover Market Street Creatives
We have also created a new public Facebook group called Discover Market Street Creatives.
CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE PAGE AND JOIN
This group is specifically designed to give our vendors, makers, artists, instructors, and business owners a dedicated place to share what they are doing and selling.
Unlike our main Facebook Page, the Discover Market Street Creatives group will be a community-driven feed where customers can regularly see updates from many different MSC businesses in one place.
Vendors can use the group to share:
- New products and recent restocks
- Seasonal and limited-quantity items
- Vendor introductions and business stories
- Booth and display updates
- Classes, workshops, and demonstrations
- Events and appearances
- Specials and promotions
- Custom-order opportunities
- Behind-the-scenes photos and videos
- Information about services offered
- Reasons for customers to visit MSC
Why this group will benefit vendors
NOTE: This group does NOT supersede the Vendor Hub group. That group is our private vendor group where we discuss non-public matters with MSC. Our main MSC Facebook page is where we will continue to promote major updates at Market Street Creatives, including events, shows, and more. That page is designed to promote the business as a whole.
The group gives vendors more control over when and how they promote their businesses. You will no longer need to wait for MSC to share your post to the main Page timeline.
Customers who join the group are specifically choosing to see vendor products, updates, and announcements. That means the audience should be more interested in discovering what is new and engaging directly with your business.
The group will also help vendors:
- Build recognition for their business name
- Reach customers between visits
- Introduce new products as soon as they arrive
- Generate interest in classes and events
- Answer customer questions directly
- Cross-promote with other MSC businesses
- Encourage repeat visits
- Create a stronger community around shopping local
The more vendors participate, the more useful and exciting the group will become for customers.
Discover Market Street Creatives Group Rules
1. Promotional posts are limited to current MSC businesses
Promotional posts may be made by current Market Street Creatives vendors, approved instructors, event partners, MSC departments, and MSC staff.
2. Posts must relate to your MSC business
Posts should promote products, services, classes, events, restocks, demonstrations, or updates connected to your business at Market Street Creatives.
Please do not use the group to promote unrelated businesses, outside organizations, or events that have not been approved by MSC.
3. Identify your business
Every promotional post should include:
- Your business name
- Your room, booth, or space number when applicable
- A clear description of the product, service, or announcement
- Pricing when appropriate
- Information about how the customer can find or contact you
4. Use clear and accurate information
Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of their pricing, product descriptions, availability, ordering information, and business claims.
Please update or remove posts when an item is no longer available, if doing so could cause customer confusion.
5. Avoid excessive or repetitive posting
Please do not post the same item or message repeatedly.
As a general guideline, vendors should limit promotional posting to no more than:
- One promotional post every other day
Additional posting may be appropriate for time-sensitive updates, but the group should remain useful and enjoyable for customers.
6. Use good-quality content
Clear photos, short videos, readable graphics, and helpful descriptions will receive more engagement.
Please avoid blurry images, graphics with difficult-to-read text, or posts that do not explain what is being shown.
7. Be respectful and professional
Do not criticize another vendor, interfere with another business’s customer conversations, or compare your business negatively with another MSC business.
Vendor concerns, complaints, and operational issues should be handled privately through the appropriate MSC manager—not posted publicly in the group.
8. No inappropriate or unrelated content
The following are not permitted without prior approval:
- Political campaigning or political debates
- Personal fundraising
- Chain posts and unrelated memes
- Outside business recruiting
- Multilevel-marketing recruitment
- Unapproved raffles or giveaways
- Private vendor-management discussions
- Complaints about customers, vendors, staff, or MSC
- Content that is offensive, misleading, or inappropriate
9. Respect copyright and ownership
Only post photos, videos, graphics, and written content that you created or have permission to use.
Do not copy another vendor’s photos, descriptions, or promotional materials without permission.
10. MSC may moderate the group
Market Street Creatives may approve, decline, close comments on, or remove posts that do not fit the purpose of the group.
Repeated rule violations may result in temporary or permanent removal of posting privileges.
Help us build the group
We encourage every vendor to join Discover Market Street Creatives, introduce their business, and begin sharing what makes their products or services special.
Please also invite customers, friends, family members, and followers who enjoy discovering small businesses and supporting local entrepreneurs.
Our main Market Street Creatives Page will continue to focus on major announcements and information that supports the entire organization. Our Stories will help us reshare tagged vendor content, and the new Discover Market Street Creatives group will give every business a dedicated place to be seen.
Together, these three channels will help us create a more organized, effective, and valuable social media presence for Market Street Creatives and all the businesses within it.
Thank you
