With the holiday shopping season approaching, we want to clarify how sales, discounts, promotions, and coupon codes work at Market Street Creatives.
Every business owner is welcome to run sales and promotions in their space. The important distinction is whether you are simply changing the price of an item or asking Ricochet to automatically calculate a discount or promotion at checkout.
You Can Do This Yourself in Ricochet
If you want to put a specific item or several individual items on sale, you can simply change the selling price of those items in Ricochet yourself.
For example:
Cutting Board — Regularly $19.95, SALE $14.95
Change the price in Ricochet to $14.95, put your sale signage in your space, and you’re ready to go. You do not need to contact MSC staff.
MSC Needs to Set Up Discounts & Promotions
Please contact us if you want to run something that requires Ricochet to automatically apply a promotion or discount at checkout, including:
- Percentage discounts — such as 10% off all cutting boards
- Dollar-off discounts — such as $5 off selected products
- A discount on an entire category or group of products
- A discount on everything in your space
- Coupon or promotional codes you want to advertise to customers
- Other promotions that need to be configured through the Ricochet admin system
These cannot be set up through your individual Ricochet access and must be created by MSC staff.
Holiday Season — Please Give Us 7 Days’ Notice
We expect many of our business owners to run promotions during the upcoming holiday season. If you need MSC to create a discount, promotion, or coupon code for you, please give us at least 7 days’ advance notice before you want the promotion to begin.
With more than 200 businesses at MSC, we want to avoid receiving dozens of last-minute promotion requests at the same time—especially around major holiday shopping weekends.
Simple rule to remember:
Changing the actual price of individual items? → You can do it yourself.
Percentage discount, dollar-off promotion, category/space-wide sale, or coupon code? → Contact MSC at least 7 days in advance.
We absolutely encourage you to use sales and promotions to help drive business. We just want to make sure everything is properly set up in Ricochet so your customers receive the correct pricing at checkout.
